Back From China and Korea

Nick has recently returned home from his travels to China and Korea. The stops in Malaysia and Singapore were canceled, but Nick was very pleased to be able to spend 10 months experiencing China and Korea as a native; living and working in both small and large cities for extended periods of time. Artistically, the entire event was very successful, with large, appreciative audiences throughout both countries. At the end of a typical show, the audience would rush down to the orchestra pit wall to watch and hear the exit music and erupt into an enormous ovation after the final downbeat. It was enormously gratifying for both Nick and his wonderful orchestra.

Nick has just finished arranging a new Cabaret act of Jerry Herman’s music for Susie Speidel and also orchestrated and conducted the music for Kean University’s 2008 graduate and undergraduate commencement exercises.

Nick has just completed the score for a new “Guerilla Musical” sponsored by the Academy for New Musical Theatre in Los Angeles.  It’s entitled I Quit! and will be filmed in an office complex in Los Angeles during the next two weeks.  Scott Guy wrote the book and lyrics and Robert Watson will orchestrate.  Check back often for updates on this exciting new project.  We hope to post it on this website when it’s completed.

The “Music” page of this site has been recently updated with several new additions.  included is Nick’s orchestration of the classic standard, “Chicago”, which was taken from Lorna Luft’s new Barry Manilow produced CD: Songs My Mother Taught Me.

Also, check out the new “Scores” page on this site.  No, it’s nothing to do with the famous NYC Gentleman’s Club.  It has written examples of some of Nick’s most representative orchestrations and compositions.
